The University of Engineering and Technology (main) positioned in the north part of Lahore on the historic “Grand Trunk Road (G. T. Road)”, in the vicinity of the spectacular Shalimar Gardens constructed during the great Mughal Empire.
In the year 1932, the institution was associated with the University of the Punjab for honour of a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. In 1947, at the moment of independence, the Institution was presenting well-organized B. Sc. Degree Programs in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.

UET Lahore Ph.D Admission
- Eligibility necessitie for admission into PhD program is that the applicant must attained a M. Sc. / M. Phil (17+ years degree) or comparative degree in the related discipline in 1st division or with a CGPA of 3. 0 out of a maximum of 4. 0 (in case, applicant’s transcript shows percentage and also CGPA, CGPA would be regarded as for eligibility. CGPAs on a scale other than 4. 00 would be translated consequently).
- Applicants should meet HEC’s admission test criterion.
Medium of Instruction
- The medium of instruction, writing thesis and examination shall be English.
UET Lahore PhD Application Process
- Every applicant for the Degree of PhD shall utilize for admission to the worried Teaching Department of the UET Lahore determining the area of research and proposed owner.
- Post Graduate Research Committee (PGRC) of the anxious department shall examine the application on merit and suggest area of research and supervisor.
- In case of acclaim of the application, an Advisory Committee composed of of 3 members from within or outside the section including the issued supervisor shall be put together by the PGRC and the case shall be submitted for provisional admission to Convener Admission Committee (CAC) for additional processing.
UET Lahore Requirement of Conformation for PhD Admissions
- The applicant shall finished a bare minimum of 6 post graduate programs from within the department or from other departments in session with his supervisor within a optimum period of 2 years. The applicant shall manage a cumulative percentage of 70% or a CGPA of 3. 3 out of 4. 00 in these subjects. In instance he fails to manage the necessary ordinary at time of conclusion of 6 post graduate programs or fails to finished 6 programs within maximum allowable time period of 2 years, his provisional admission to the PhD program shall be canceled.
- The applicant shall sit in a complete exam within 1 year after satisfying program conditions. In case, the applicant fails to endeavor the 1st complete examination within the particular period, Advisory Committee may highly recommend cancellation of candidate’s provisional admission to the PhD program.
- Extensive examination shall be executed by the anxious department.
- A applicant shall glimpse in a extensive examination for the 2nd time if he fails in his 1st attempt promptly when the next time comprehensive examination is presented by the concerned department. Failure in 2nd attempt shall be communicated to CAC and his provisional admission to the PhD program shall be canceled.
- The applicant shall present his exploration proposal to PGRC within 6 months after passing the extensive examination. After demonstration, PGRC shall examine the research proposal or have it examined through a procedure organized for this purpose. After setting up suitability of the proposal as a possibilities PhD topic, engagement along with the title shall be published to Board of Advanced Study and Research (BoASR) for authorization. On authorization by BoASR, candidate’s admission to PhD program shall be verified.
- In case the applicant does not present his suggestion to PGRC relating to schedule, PGRC may decide to cancel the provisional entrance of the applicant.
UET Lahore Eligibility for Admission
Only those applicants will be entitled for admission who have exceeded their undergraduate (16 years equivalent) degree by acquiring a minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 3. 00 out of a maximum of 4. 00. CGPAs on other scales will be translated appropriately. For admission to M. Sc. in Applied Physics / Applied Chemistry / Applied Mathematics the applicant has to secure a minimum of 60% marks in B. Sc. (14 years) and also a minimum marks of 60% in the related subject.
The candidate shall have to clear Genral Aptitude Test (GAT) General test for admission to all programs except M. Sc. in Applied Physics / Applied Chemistry / Applied Mathematics for which tests shall be given by particular departments.
- A applicant for admission to a postgraduate class, [other than those mentioned at (b) to (L)below] must maintain at least Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant discipline/subject from a identified Institute/University unless higher qualification is laid down for a specific discipline.
- A applicant for admission to M. Sc. Applied Chemistry must hold one of the subsequent degrees from a recognized UET Lahore.
The Candidate must have exceeded Intermediate examination with Pre-Engineering/Pre-Medical subjects & B. Sc. with one of the subsequent permutations:
- Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics/Mathematics General
- Chemistry, Physics and Statistics
- Chemistry, Physics and Geology
- Chemistry, Botony and Zoology
A applicant having one of the subsequent degrees will be entitled for admission in M. Sc. Computer Engineering:
- 4 years Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering or Computer Systems Engineering or Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or M. Sc. (16 years) in Physics with specialty area in Electronics or M. Sc. (16 years) in Electronics from HEC known UET Lahore.
- There is no age restriction
- M. Sc. (16 years) in Computer Science or comparable from HEC recognized UET Lahore.
- B. Sc. Electrical Engineering from HEC known university subject to finish of 6 extra CS foundations programs as driven by Post Graduate Committee.
- There is no age restriction
- A applicant for admission to the Master’s Degree Course in City & Regional Planning must hold one of the subsequent degrees from the known UET Lahore/Institution.
- B.Sc. City & Regional Planning
- Bachelor of Architecture
- B.Sc. Civil Engineering
- A candidate for admission to M.Sc. in Mathematics must hold one of the following degrees from a recognised Institution.
- B.A./B.Sc. with A & B Courses of Mathematics
- B.Sc. with Mathematics and Physics
- A candidate for admission to M.Sc. degree course in Mechatronics must hold one of the following degrees from a recognised Institution.
- B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering
- B.Sc. Electrical/Electronics Engineering
- B.Sc. Mechatronics Engineering
- A candidate for admission to M.Sc. degree course in Applied Physics must hold B.Sc. degree with Physics and Mathematics as major subjects
- A candidate for admission to M.Sc. Environmental Engineering must hold one of the following degrees from a recognised University/Institute:-

The student that belong to any place of punjab must have Domicile for admission in UET. If you are belong to punjab then you have taken your domicile for the admission.
